Big Vern n the Shootahs are delighted to have been chosen as the entertainment at the 2012 Great British Ball which will be held in the Shangri-la Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Saturday 13th October 2012.  The organising committee chose Big Vern n the Shootahs over a number of international bands and artistes who pitched for the show.

Big Vern n the Shootahs performed at the GBB in 2011 and are set to raise the roof once more and knock the audience’s socks off.

Speaking about the invitation, band spokesman Martin Bell said;

” In 2011 it was a ‘once in a lifetime’ trip and we are pinching ourselves that we have the chance to travel again to a beautiful part of the world where we have the most generous hosts.  They treated us like very special guests and we’ll make sure we don’t let them down in 2012.  It is a fantastic honour to be invited and a very special night is already being planned”

Big Vern n the Shootahs have teamed up with Radio Forth and Asda for a forthcoming ‘Big Night Out’ with all proceeds going to the ‘Cash for Kids Charity’

On Friday 18^th May 2012 the band will perform at the event which is being held at the Beancross Hotel in Falkirk; check out here for directions and information.  As well as a full set from Big Vern n the Shootahs, the band will be joined by Forth FM DJ Martin Ewart

Yorkhill Children’s Foundation is ten years old, and to celebrate our tenth anniversary, we are hosting our first ever Yorkhill Ball on Friday 16th March 2012 – and you are invited! This will be the birthday party of the year, held in the fabulous Grand Ballroom of the newly refurbished Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow. Sparkling reception from 7pm.

As well as being a formal black tie dinner, this year The Yorkhill Ball will be themed in the style of a classic children’s birthday party, and will include all the party games you will remember like Pass The Parcel and Musical Statues. There will even be a midnight feast when the clocks strike twelve! Big Vern n the Shootahs have just returned to Scotland after a stunning road-trip across the world to perform at the Great British Ball, held in the Shangri-la Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

This event had a ‘Casino Royale 007 theme’ and the 700 guests at this sold out party were treated to the band on top form, playing to a rammed full dancefloor for two hours.

The boys were flown from Glasgow to Kuala Lumpur with Emirates airlines and the entire trip was co-ordinated by the GBB committee and the band to ensure everything was in perfect place; instruments, PA system, monitor engineers, lighting techs and nine dry cleaned Big Vern blue suits!!!!!

Needless to say, the mainly expatriate crowd had never seen anything quite like Big Vern n the Shootahs on TOP form, with the band delivering song after song which had the entire dancefloor filled from first song till last.  Its a simple philosphy that the band employs; party classics played well, with kicking horns, perfect backing vocals  and a driving rhythm section. No backing tracks, no tricks, no sequencers, simply nine guys singing and playing completely live with some cool choreography to boot. Cool, soulful and funky.  Just perfect for any party……………

As promised, and by popular demand, Big Vern ‘n’ the Shootahs will be performing at our home-from-home The Ferry, at Anderston Quay, Glasgow. As it’s the Bank Holiday Weekend, there’s no need to worry about work on Monday.
